sushi rice. My son choked on it (3 years old) and the upside-down-hit-on-back method didn’t work…I ended up doing the WRONG thing and clearing his mouth out with my finger (wrong as can push object further down throat) and then whacked again very very hard. It came out. He was fine. I remember a EMT telling me that for young kids you only hit them on the back upside down, and that you should never call 911 (wastes time you could be unblocking an airway) but if someone else is around you can get them to call. Very creepy. My poor child had no idea why I was pounding on him.

I remarried at age of 39 with three teenagers – two still living at home. My husband had two married daughters and an “almost” married son. We went to his wedding and his Mom and Stepdad were there. Rick intoduced his Mom and looked at me and said,”This is my other mom.” I hadn’t heard of bio but another word is blended families. I always think of eggs.
Our “at home family” had their ups and downs. Life was’nt always easy. We moved to SlC which was an excellent choice. When he became sick, my daughter and granddaughter moved home to take care of him. My one stepdaughter said,”We don’t have any “steps” in this family.

I have three kids. I’m friends with the middle child but not the oldest. Middle is a girl and she likes being my friend. Oldest is a boy and prefers not to have to read my lame updates. Youngest is too young to have an account yet. I do have their passwords but haven’t had to use them lately.
